Our Story

After more than 10 years of managing rental properties across the country, we knew the business inside and out — the tenants, the leases, the maintenance calls, the chaos. What we couldn't figure out was why keeping the books had to be such a nightmare.

Every property meant juggling something different. Rent collection, security deposits, late fees, plumbers at 2am, turnover costs, property taxes, insurance renewals — each unit had its own paperwork and its own headaches. Receipts would disappear. Tenant ledgers lived in three different apps. By the time tax season rolled around, figuring out true cash flow per property meant digging through bank statements, texts, and half-filled spreadsheets.

"We were losing receipts, missing rent payments, and never really knowing which properties were actually making money. We needed something built for the way landlords actually work."

So we built it ourselves. The Landlord Ledger was designed from day one around the reality of being a landlord — multiple properties, rotating tenants, expenses that happen fast and receipts that disappear faster. Every feature exists because we needed it for our own portfolio.

The Problems We Solved

Lost Receipts
Every expense logged in one place with photo attachments — no more hunting through emails and texts.
Missed Rent
Track rent due, paid, and late across every tenant and unit at a glance.
Messy Books
Real-time cash flow per property so you always know which units pay and which drag.
Multiple Properties
Separate ledgers per unit so you know exactly what each rental costs and earns you.

Who We Are

We're a team of real estate investors and operators based across the country. We don't come from Silicon Valley — we come from rent rolls and maintenance tickets. The Landlord Ledger is operated by The Landlord Ledger LLC, and everything we build is guided by one question: does this make a landlord's life easier?

If you have feedback, ideas, or just want to talk shop, we'd love to hear from you at thelandlordledgerllc@gmail.com.
